Nasim
Nasim started taking dance classes at age 3. Strongly influenced by her father's Iranian heritage, connecting music and dance. Throughout high school, Nasim was an apprentice dancer at Civic Ballet Company where she performed as a soloist and core dancer in annual shows as well as collaborative art projects in the community. Throughout that time, Nasim also participated in various exclusive workshops for flamenco, and modern dance. She also taught creative movement at the Boys and Girls Club in Scranton.
Although dance has always been a strong passion in Nasim's life, it wasn't until she met Valeria Bogokina Myers that her dance ability took on a professional level. After founding the Red Shoes Dance Company with Valeria in 2004, Nasim was appointed Assistant Artistic Director and Project Coordinator of the company. Nasim received a bachelor's degree in Advertising/ Public Relations from the University of Scranton in 2005. During her collegial experience, Nasim participated in professional workshops by Philadanco, Alvin Ailey, Dance Theater X and the Jose Limon Institute in New York City.
In 2006 Nasim was accepted into the very prestigious Professional Studies Program of the Jose Limon Institute in New York City. There, she studied the classical modern dance technique of the world famous, Jose Limon for one year.
